Capt. Jeff Totten is one of those "local boys"
who cut his teeth fishing the waters he now charters for a living.
Years of discovery and methodical refinement of his techniques have
led to a unique understanding of these waters and fish that inhabit
them. It's why he consistently produces such good catches and why
his clients come back year after year.
But it's more than just knowing every oyster bar and mangrove overhang
in the backcountry. It's more than always knowing where schools
of baitfish reside. And it's more than knowing on what part of the
tide a school of finicky snook will turn on. It's about a genuine
love for fishing and a deep appreciation for the special nature
of the Charlotte Harbor backcountry and Boca Grande. In short, guiding
hasn't become a chore for Capt. Jeff and it shows on the water.
This enthusiasm is what propelled him to the top as a tournament
tarpon angler. With numerous tournament wins and places under his
belt, including the World's Richest title and Captain's Point Champion,
he is one of the most winning tournament anglers in the long history
of Boca Grande.
