Charlotte Harbor Trout - I never underestimate the
spotted sea trout. Perhaps one of our most abundant fish species,
he is a feisty fighter and an eager feeder on live and artificial
bait. We have a great population of fish from hatchlings to big
gators pushing 8 pounds and they are with us all year long.
They are a schooling fish and often times finding one means you've
found them all. An aggressive feeder when hungry, they are known
to smack topwater plugs clear out of the water and when hooked,
they rise to the surface and kick up big splashes in their battle
for freedom. A tasty fish in the pan, our anglers often choose to
take a few for the diner table and that's OK, as we have a healthy
population of these great fish.
